Arena Stage Gala Welcoming Hana S. Sharif

Event Chairs Nicholas Goad and Alethia Jackson

Join us for a Gilded Age celebration to toast Arena Stage! The evening will feature a cocktail reception with unique artist experiences, a seated dinner, an unforgettable performance and award presentation on the Fichandler Stage with Symone Sanders-Townsend as Master of Ceremonies, and a reception at the end of the night with dancing and late-night treats.

We are delighted to present the Beth Newburger Schwartz Award to the Honorable Marcia L. Fudge. Throughout Fudge’s illustrious career in public service, she was elected the first female and first African American mayor of Warrensville Heights, Ohio, served as U.S. Representative for the 11th Congressional District of Ohio from 2008 to 2021, was the Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, and was 18th Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Past recipients have included the award’s namesake Beth Newburger Schwartz, Arlene R. Kogod, Mayor Muriel Bowser, Nina Totenberg, Melanne Verveer and Molly Smith.

This evening will also feature an exclusive musical performance from Tony Award winner Patina Miller. Miller has been on Broadway in the revival of Pippin, the revival of Into the Woods and Sister Act. Her television credits include Raquel Thomas in the STARZ original series Power Book III: Raising Kanan, Daisy Grant in the CBS hit drama Madam Secretary, and Charlotte Jenkins on the PBS Civil War-era drama Mercy Street. She made her feature film debut as Commander Paylor in Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, reprised her role in the final installment of the series, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, and has also starred in The Many Saints of Newark.

Space is limited.

All proceeds support Arena Stage's award-winning Artistic Productions and Community Engagement Programs.
