Academic Internships

Arena Stage in partnership with Howard University and George Mason University, proudly continues the shared tradition of cultivating the next generation of theater artists and arts administrators. These collaborations align with Arena Stage's mission to amplify diverse voices and inspire action through the arts. By sharing resources and opening our doors, we are creating new opportunities for future leaders in the arts to shape the next wave of American theater.

Howard Creative Arts Administration Internship 

Launched in fall 2025, in partnership with Howard University, this internship provides seniors with hands-on experience in a non-profit arts organization. The program helps students develop skills across various arts administration roles and is supplemented by professional development opportunities.

George Mason Arts Administration Internship 

Developed in partnership with George Mason University, set to launch spring 2026, this internship offers students hands-on experience within a non-profit theater organization. The program is designed to develop practical skills in arts administration and is enriched with professional development opportunities.
