Camp Arena Stage Open House

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater will host its third annual Camp Arena Stage Open House on Saturday, January 11, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mead Center (1101 Sixth Street, SW).

The Open House will feature sample activities and classes taught by camp staff and provides an opportunity for prospective campers and parents to experience a taste of Camp Arena Stage and have all their camp questions answered. The event is FREE and children ages 8-15 are welcome to participate in sample workshops and classes focusing on theater, musical theater, visual art, singing and dance. Prospective campers and their families are welcome to drop in for any portion of this event.

Children of all ages can participate in face painting and craft projects throughout the day at the Visual Arts Station for All Ages.

Note: The Open House is held at the Mead Center for American Theater (1101 6th St. SW, Washington, DC). During the summer, Camp Arena Stage is held at Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School (1524 35th St. NW, Washington, DC).

Improvisation (12:20 - 1:05 in the Kogod Cradle)
Learn the basics of creating theater in the moment and explore a world of unscripted playtime.

Contemporary Dance (12:20 - 1:05 in the Mac Rehearsal Hall)
The leaps, extension and emotion of contemporary dance makes it a crowd favorite. Learn to fly, to fall and to dance between the edges!
