Donor Relations – Part Time

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theatre, a national center for the production, presentation, development, and study of the American Theatre, is accepting applications for the position of Donor Relationship Manager – Part Time.

This individual will be responsible for maintaining a structure conducive to providing the best in customer care for donors and prospects as they enjoy refreshments and conversation before a performance and during intermission.

Responsibilities include

  • Actively engage guests in the donor lounge area as they relax before a performance and during intermission to learn about their history with Arena Stage and anything we can do to improve their experience here.
  • Oversee the setup of Donor Lounge area prior to performance. Clean up and refresh in preparation for intermission reception, and oversee final cleanup of lounge area.
  • Act as liaison between bartender, front of house staff and volunteer usher to make sure guests arrive in their theater seats on time, including monitoring front of house and backstage announcements. Manage challenges in lounge space.
  • Coordinate special requests from guests through Visitor Services or House Management.
  • File reports at the close of each performance.
  • Coordinate with other development, senior staff or Trustees who may attend to help greet guests.
  • Coordinate with Development Coordinator on weekly attendance lists.


Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred; customer service experience and problem solving essential; arts background and interest in fundraising and development and/or front of house. Must be available evenings and weekends.
