Additionally, Kiki & Herb:Alive on Broadway has been postponed until the 2008/2009 season. Will my seats
change for the rest of 2007/08?
We will make every effort to assign you comparable
seating in Crystal City. The theater’s seating
layout is similar to the Kreeger Theater, except
that there is no mezzanine.
Will I have to keep the seats assigned to me at the
Crystal City for the following season?
Much as our subscription renewal process works now,
you will be able to request a change in seating
assignment when you renew your subscription for the
following season.
Why wasn’t
I informed of this move before I
subscribed/purchased tickets?
Raising funds, securing financing and planning the
construction of the new Arena Stage at the Mead
Center for American Theater has been and will
continue to be a complex project—one that we are
confident we can accomplish. We could not move
forward with a temporary relocation until a
groundbreaking date was set—a piece of the puzzle we
only learned on Oct. 2, 2007.
If I suspend my subscription
during the years you are in Crystal City, can I get
my old seats back when you return to performing in
the Fichandler and the Kreeger?
Much as our subscription renewal process works now,
seating privileges are only reserved for current
subscribers. If you do not renew your subscription
during our two and half years in Crystal City, we
will not be able to guarantee your former seat
locations in the Fichandler Stage or the Kreeger
Theater when we re-open Arena Stage at the Mead
Center for American Theater.
How does the theater in
Crystal City compare to the Fichandler Stage or the Kreeger
Theater?
Arena Stage in Crystal City is a 460-seat theater
with a proscenium stage, similar to the Kreeger
Theater. We have renovated the theater specifically
to accommodate our patrons and our productions for
the next two and a half seasons while Arena’s new
home is being built.
Will the quality of Arena’s
productions be compromised by the relocation?
Arena Stage will continue to deliver the quality of
productions you have come to enjoy over fifty-seven
award-winning seasons. Our location will change
temporarily, but the organization and the people who
create the art on stage will not.
How long will Arena Stage be
located in Crystal City?
We anticipate being in Crystal City for two and half
years and returning to Washington, D.C. to open our
fabulous new home for the 2010/11 season.
Will there be any shows
produced at Arena Stage in Washington, D.C. during
the construction years?
In order to keep to our construction schedule, we
will not be able to mount any productions at Arena
Stage in Washington, D.C. We may stage some
productions in the 2008/09 season at the Lincoln
Theatre in D.C.
When will Arena Stage at the
Mead Center for American Theater open?
Take the short trip to Crystal City with us, and we
will come back to a fabulous new home for the
2010/11 season–all thanks to your ongoing support of
Arena Stage.
