Notes from Molly: In the heyday of jazz, world famous artists like Ella Fitzgerald made regular visits to the theaters and clubs along “Black Broadway” on U Street in Northwest D.C. Ella thrilled audiences at such local venues as the Lincoln Theatre, Howard Theater, Club Bali and Bohemian Caverns. Tina Fabrique – an extraordinary artist in her own right – now brings Ella back to town in this celebration of a woman whom everyone adored, but few ever really knew.
