Welcome to Round 2: 2010-2012 of the National Endowment for the Arts New Play Development Program (NPDP) hosted by Arena Stage.

This is where you can submit your Intent(s) to Apply and where you can fill out, share, edit, and submit your Application(s) to the Program. All applications and supporting materials will be accepted electronically using this online system.

Deadlines and Timeline

  • Friday, December 18, 2009 -- Intent to Apply Due (must submit this first in order to Apply)
  • Friday, January 29, 2010 -- Completed Application Due
  • Sunday, June 13, 2010 -- Announcement of Selections

New Applicants

Please read the Guidelines before creating an account for a particular category. Round 2's Guidelines will help you determine your eligibility and will help you determine which category(s) you will want to create an account(s) for. Please designate an Application contact person from the lead theater to manage the Application and the creation of the account.

Once you create an account for a particular category, you will be able to submit your Intent to Apply for that particular category. If submitting two Intent to Apply's, you will create two separate accounts - one for each category.

Application for Round 2

The Application forms are not yet available for filling out and submitting within this Online System. When they become available (very soon), we will get the word out through the New Play Blog. An Intent to Apply will have to be submitted before you will be permitted to fill out and edit your Application forms online. However, if you would like to get an early start on thinking about the Application questions, you can refer to Round 1's Application (pages 2-5).
