Community Day and Costume SaleSaturday, August 26, 2017 | 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Arena Stage invites you to celebrate the American Voices that have shaped our country and our 2017/18 Season! Showcasing America’s cultural past, Arena Stage’s artistic present and Southwest D.C.’s culinary future, our Community Day is fun for the entire family. Scheduled activities include:

Live music from acoustic pop/soul artist Cecily Bumbray, Americana band
Justin Trawick and the Common Good and the musical theater cabaret series La-Ti-Do DC

Dance performances • Face painting • Photobooth and Costume Trunk
Historic and cultural presentations • Storytelling • Poetry readings

Great food from restaurants on the Wharf and in Southwest including
Mike Isabella’s Requin, Del Mar, Masala Art, Richard's Place and Station 4.

Partner organizations for the event include the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress, American Indian Society of Washington, American Storytelling with Diane Macklin, Mount Vernon, National Japanese American Memorial Foundation and Japanese American Citizens League.


Arena Stage will also host a Costume Sale featuring select costume items from productions including:
